We are currently looking for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to cover maternity leave. This role will start in September and so candidates with a notice period may be considered. It will be a long term contract, running until at least September next year. We are looking for individuals who would be looking to start a career with a fast growing, international company, as there will be plenty of opportunities to secure a permanent role when the assignment comes to an end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly managing up to 6 Purchase Ledger Clerks
  • Training and continuous coaching of any new team members 
  • Coaching existing team members to support you in training new team members
  • Line management responsibilities including regular one-to-one reviews, appraisals, probationary reviews and continuous training of all Purchase Ledger Clerks
  • Maintenance of regular planners to ensure timely task completion from your team
  • Continuous monitoring of your team to ensure all target timescales are achieved
  • Ensuring all tasks set to your team is completed to a high standard
  • Identifying and rectifying any errors, and making sure team members are trained to avoid reoccurrence
  • Increasing your own Purchase Ledger function skills to ensure you are always an expert
  • Maintaining the invoice spreadsheets to support the Purchase Ledger Manager
  • Dealing with rejected invoices and ensuring all queries are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Any other tasks as required

Person Specification:

  • AAT qualified, similar, or qualified by experience
  • Excellent Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Experience of Open Accounts desired, but not essential
  • Finance background
  • Previous experience in line management
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident in dealing with a high volume of workload
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
