Sheridan Maine is delighted to partner with a leading manufacturing business to assist with its search for an Assistant Project Accountant. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate with approximately six months of experience in accounting or finance. The role offers flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid pattern that allows you to work both remotely and, in the Telford based office.
 
As an Assistant Project Accountant, you will be an integral part of the finance team, supporting various projects and contributing to the financial success of the organisation. This role will provide you with valuable exposure to project accounting, financial analysis, and business operations within a manufacturing environment.
 
Your responsibilities as the Assistant Project Accountant will include:

  • Assist in the preparation and provision of financial reports, including project budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Ensure a steady cash flow by generating, auditing and sending invoices in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs, providing sound financial support and advice
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, evaluating processes to ensure robust, relevant and adequate financial records are in place
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing accurate and timely financial information
  • Continuously review and improve processes and procedures to ensure that the financial control requirements of the business are met
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
 
What you will need to be considered for the position of Assistant Project Accountant:
  • Working towards a recognised qualification (ACMA, ACCA or ACA) or qualified by experience
  • Approximately six months of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a project accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably SAP)
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder management, able to articulate financial problems to non-financial individuals
  • Some exposure of business partnering skills with effective communication and influencing skills at all different levels
