Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an award-winning hospitality firm that is recruiting for a Senior Financial Controller.  The central London based company offers a generous pay and benefits package, flexible working and excellent career opportunities.
 
The Senior Financial Controller will form part of the Senior Management Team and be solely responsible for the day-to-day running of the finance department.
 
Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Controller will include but not limited to:

• Manage, coach and develop a high performing team
• Implement and maintain a robust financial control and reporting environment
• Responsible for the preparation and review of the Global Monthly Management Accounts and present them to the Head of Finance and CFO
• Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are prepared on time and review
• Responsible for the monthly consolidation of management accounts
• Responsible for the delivery of the monthly reporting in conjunction with the monthly management accounts
• Optimize the team’s use of SAGE 200 to improve efficiency through automation
• Produce monthly commentaries on variances against budget, reforecast and prior year
• Prepare the first cut of the annual budget and 3-5 year plans for review by Head of Finance and CFO
• Responsible for preparation of the statutory accounts and overview of the annual audit process for all legal entities
• Checking and approving bi-weekly and monthly payrolls to deadline in the bank
• Responsible for the timely submission of VAT returns by the team
• Identify and report on major business and reporting risks, including the identification of risk mitigation plans
• Business partnering General Managers and key stakeholders around the business
• Project management and sponsorship for projects with material financial impacts, or to deliver commercial or strategic priorities
• Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the Head of Finance

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant experience in a FC role
• Experience working in a multi-site business, ideally F&B or retail
• Proven experience of leading and managing a team
• Strong technical knowledge of UK & US GAAP and FRS
• Continuous process improvement expertise and mindset
• Technical competence in finance systems (prior SAGE 200 experience an advantage)
