Job Details
Sheridan Main is currently working with a leading company in the insurance sector, working with some of the major business partners in the industry. We are now looking for a Finance Assistant, for their office based in Winchester. Convenient and easy access to transports services. The role offers a basic salary + pension contributions, life cover, annual bonus scheme, study support and 22 days holiday with the opportunity to do extra days.
Your responsibilities will include
Preparation of cashbooks and associated bank/scheme reconciliation and reporting
Preparation of direct debit collections and associated reporting
Processing refunds via different payment methods
Handling both written and verbal communications
Cash management responsibilities
Key Competencies
Meticulous and accurate record keeping
Methodical approach to all aspects of the role
Confidence in using web and Microsoft Excel (Lookups, Pivot Tables, Formulas)
Ability to work in a small team of four on own initiative and without direct day-to-day supervision
A positive ‘can-do’ attitude to deal with unexpected ad hoc tasks
Someone who is innovative and shows willing to support the department move from a range of manual processes to improve automation
Good working knowledge of Sage Financial an advantage (not essential)
2 years’ experience in accounting and/or relevant degree is essential
