Financial Controller

£85000 per annum

We are currently working with one of Europe's largest suppliers of railway infrastructure services to find a Financial Controller.

The successful candidate will work very closely with the Finance Director in order to achieve the objectives of the business and will provide the necessary financial input. You will equally be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate and appropriate financial and management information across the company. The FC will be responsible for managing the Central Finance team.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Directing and supervising of monthly management accounts preparation, quarterly reporting and preparation of statutory financial statements as required. Co-ordinating activities of internal and external auditors and

ensuring that all requirements are met in a timely and effective manner

• Developing an understanding of the business in order to be able to assist executive management in preparing the annual business plan and providing necessary financial support to Directors and Managers. Keeping track

of performance and ensuring that they remain within the parameters set by the budget

• The FC is required to ensure that financial data is analysed and presented in a timely and appropriate manner and that any necessary corrective action is taken

• The FC will play an important role in managing the cash flows of the business in an efficient and effective manner. He or She will maintain day-to-day relationships with the banks and providers of external financing. The

FC is expected to be knowledgeable about various financial instruments as well as keeping abreast of the latest and most appropriate financing alternatives available. The FC will be required to evaluate the

appropriateness of various financing alternatives and recommend their applicability

• The FC must have knowledge of financial and tax related matters and to ensure that a monitoring system is in place to confirm compliances. The role also requires ensuring that business activities are conducted in the

most tax efficient manner and that the group takes advantage of all tax benefits provided under law with requisite legal support where necessary

• Work with the business in creating management information in order to help to improve business efficiency and cash flow. You will need to play a role in supporting a systems infrastructure to ensure it is totally aligned to

the business needs of the company

• Develop a strong Finance team of functional experts to ensure both sound accounting and control policies & practices and effective financial support to the business. This will include motivating the team and ensuring

commitment to high performance standards
